OUR MISSION

The Gambrell Foundation invests in the people and ideas shaping a better future. For nearly 40 years, we’ve invested in solving the world’s problems and providing what makes life meaningful for everyone.

We invest in the greatest thinkers of today to solve the problems of tomorrow so that everyone can have the possibility of a good life.

We invest in preventative systems and the people building them, rather than treating challenges one at a time, so that everyone has the possibility of a good life. We go upstream to solve today’s problems before they become tomorrow’s.

Basket Case Farms

Basket Case Farms grows fresh food on family land in Waxhaw, North Carolina, and gives all of it away. Since planting its first seeds in 2018, the farm has partnered with communities and nonprofits across greater Charlotte, donating 100% of its harvest to neighbors facing food insecurity. Rooted in the belief that food nourishes both bodies and communities, Basket Case Farms stewards its land for a healthier, more connected Charlotte.
