American Institute for Boys and Men
The American Institute for Boys and Men conducts non-partisan research and develops programs and policies to support the well-being and full potential of boys and men across the United States.
Richard Reeves studies inequality for a living. In recent years, he’s shifted his focus to boys and men. Boys are struggling with mental health, loneliness and belonging and they’re trailing girls throughout the education system. Reeves, a former Brookings Institution scholar, founded The American Institute for Boys and Men to help them thrive. The Gambrell Foundation is proud to be the founding funder of the Institute. The organization is deeply involved in crafting legislation and state-level initiatives around male education, mental health, and getting more men into teaching.

Of Boys and Men, Richard Reeves (opens in a new tab)
Reeves takes a clear-eyed look at how boys and men are doing in school, work, and family life today, and where the systems around them haven’t kept pace. He offers real, practical fixes instead of just pointing out the problem, which makes this a useful read for anyone thinking about how to help the next generation thrive.
