Communities In Schools
Communities In Schools and The DifferenceMakers Program gives high school juniors the social capital to thrive in college, career, and beyond.
Since the opportunity for a good life often comes down to who you know, The DifferenceMakers program equips high school juniors with the social capital they need to succeed in college, careers, and the future.
Historically, where you live has determined your future success. But research shows the relationships you build can be an even more powerful driver of economic mobility. The DifferenceMakers program, created in partnership with The Gambrell Foundation and Communities In Schools of Mecklenburg County, connects students with community leaders through mentorship, workshops, and a transformational trip to Washington, D.C. By expanding students’ networks and exposing them to new opportunities, the program ensures success is not defined by where someone starts, but by how far they can go.
